The fruit of the Spirit is not a list of virtues that the Christian tries to attain. Rather, it is the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The first fruit is love.
God wants to distribute His love to the world through you. But first, He wants to solidify His love in you.
We don’t just muster up love for love God and others. Rather, God wants us to be certain of His love for us. When we are convinced of God’s love for us in the deepest part of who we are, we find that loves grows for others.

Don't miss what matters!
Some come to church to get a little religion. Some get dragged by friends, but are largely uninterested. Both groups miss what matters: new creation.

We all struggle to compare ourselves to others. We think about others as above us or below us. But Palm Sunday reminds us of Jesus who got down from His royal donkey to be lifted up as a criminal on the cross. As we are impacted by the Gospel, it changes the comparison game, and makes us people who give our lives away to impact others with the Gospel. Do your desires shape your identity? Or does your identity shape your desires? In this sermon from Galatians 5, Pastor John explores the role of the Holy Spirit and how he works in the realm of our desires. The Spirit brings conviction, but we often confuse conviction for condemnation. Conviction is “that’s not good for you”, while condemnation is “you’re not good”. There is a huge difference, and if we don’t understand that difference, we won’t understand how the Holy Spirit is making us more like Jesus.
