We enter the second week of our series, Living Greatly, taking a look at our relationships with others. Specifically we look at how Jesus spoke about anger, desire and disingenuous attitudes in the book of Matthew.
Pastor John HOumes utilizes the colorful analogy of Pixar’s “The Incredibles” to demonstrate just how double-edged the saying of “Be true to yourself” can be. He then reaches back into Black history to introduce us to Charles Octavius Booth, a pastor during shortly after the Civil War, who helped us understand the importance of forgiveness over anger”.

This week we start a new sermon series called Living Greatly where we try to gain a better understand of the type of life God considers great for the people of his Kingdom.
We looked at the examples of Cyprian, a bishop from Northern Africa 200 years after Christ’s death, who embodied sincere love and character who encouraged his people not to say great things, but to live them.
Pastor John also helps us take a look at some of the practical ways we can demonstrate this godly character in today’s world.
